Machines
Choose where Workers run.
A machine is any computer connected to your workspace through the Orvilo daemon. Workers run on machines, so your code and build tools stay on hardware you control.
Supported machines
| Machine | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Your laptop | Quick tasks while you are at your desk |
| A workstation you keep online | Longer sessions and parallel Workers |
| Your own server or VM | Always-on capacity for your team |
| Cloud sandbox | Builds that need extra compute (coming soon) |
How the daemon works
The daemon signs in with a device code, then keeps a heartbeat with your workspace so Orvilo knows the machine is online. When a Worker is assigned to the machine, the daemon creates a separate git worktree for it and runs the coding harness you selected, using the CLI tools already installed on that machine.
Checking status
orvilo daemon statusThis prints the daemon's current state, including whether it is connected to your workspace.
